Comics are a way of life for Janet Hetherington (www.best-destiny.com). While Janet studied Journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and currently works as an editor with a government agency and writes for Animation World Network, she has been cartooning since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Janet wrote, drew and self-published ETERNAL ROMANCE, a supernatural comic book series that parodied 1950s-70s love comics and earned a place in Trina Robbins' book, The Great Women Cartoonists. Janet currently has a contemporary romance story in GIRLS DRAWN WILD (Happy Harbor Comics), a new anthology published to benefit women in crisis. Janet also wrote ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK (Claypool Comics) for six years. Janet has frequently collaborated with artist Ronn Sutton on a number of projects, including JANNIE WEEZIE (daily newspaper strip, Ottawa Citizen), SPINNERETTE (Millennium Comics), PERF & GAUGE (Canada Post), FIVE ALARM CHARLIE (Sky-Dog) and numerous ELVIRA stories. Janet received Canada's Aurora Award for excellence in science fiction and fantasy in 1999.
