BEYOND HUMAN is...
"Our work is therefore historically authentic, the restoration of the Sumerian tradition."
Aleister Crowley
"He must therefore remain in heaven until a restoration of all things should take place."
The Apostle Peter, Acts 3:21
"The first shall be as the first and the last as the first."
Jesus
"The latter days shall be as the days of Noah"
Jesus
These quotes amply sum up the tone and pitch for the comic series Beyond Human.
Beyond Human is a comic series about God, the devil, governmental agents, the post modern generation, angels, demons, super-humans, witches, vampires, werewolves, prophets, apostles, crooks, cops, faith, magic, everyday life and the life of the super-powerful, all mixed together in a salad of last day events and one man's journey to finding his destiny. It explores the powers behind the powers; be they super-natural, ultra-natural, natural, or wrought by the hands and minds of men.
The series is enacted through the progressively entertwining lives of three individuals with a large supporting cast. Those three are:
Jamie Masters: Born into the Silver Age of Super-heroes, Jamie Masters is a Freak; a man with the mind of a child but the frame and power of an ogre ... a heroic ogre. His childhood fascination with the comic hero Captain Victory inspires him to want to be a super-hero, but his abusive father has other plans, including forcing Jamie to perform slave labor on their small, private, commercial dock where they live. He tends to enforce his will over Jamie with fear and by beating the child into submission; sometimes with a chain. As he becomes aware of his strengths, the youngster starts out living his dream of being a super hero as the Crimehater. Problem is, he has no control. He kills the petty criminals he encounters, and eventually he brings a lot of heat down on his dad who has been working for drug smugglers. But something else is going on with Jamie as well. The source who gifted him with his powers, it seems, is actually a demon, the Evilstalker (one of the ancient Evil 7,) who is slowly taking control of his life. We meet Jamie in mid-life, when the demon is just really taking hold, and it plays through him and uses him to bring itself into proximity and conflict with...
Aeric Summers: Who heads the security branch of a very clandestine operation of the government known as the PIA (Parahuman Intelligence Agency). This agency has grown out of experiments the government conducted for decades to create an army of the ELITE, super-soldiers with super powers. But there is a deep, dark and evil secret behind the methods they had to employ to get there, and they've only been somewhat successful. The secrets revolve around the sacrifices and 'technologies' wrought by the mages employed by the government and the things they have to do to gain the favor of the "entities" that help them with their arcane, "alien" technology. When Dr. Waters, the man who founded the program that led to the formation of the PIA, is about to die, his right hand reseacher, a sorceror named Sebastian Auchter, believes he will inherit the entire program. But Dr. Waters, and the powers that be put a foil into his plans by promoting Aeric Summers to the head of the PIA's internal security branch. Aeric is uniquely qualified. He has lived over 4000 years. He has served with almost every major leader, been in nearly every major war since the dawn of time. But he doesn't remember all of this, all of the time. He generally only knows he is the Hero. The Angel of Death. The Man Who Never Dies. And he runs with it, until he runs into...
John Saer: A punk, would be anarchist poet, self-absorbed, sorry excuse for an individual who is hated by everyone but his best friend, Dwight, and his
