Im an illustrator currently taking a break to be an English teacher in China.
From age 9 to 13 or so, Devils Night was the highlight of my year. It was a resonant time that Ive tried to distill with science fiction in The Assemblers.
The Rats story comes from another place... my observations of American politics. I might not be able to go further with this one until I get a Cintiq. It's just too time consuming on a normal Wacom.

Btw, if you know anything about copyrighting a graphic novel, I could use the advice. I paid my fees to the Library of Congress, then uploaded a synopsis and a few pages of art from The Assemblers. Also the script and sample art for Rats on a Sinking Ship. But I'm not sure if I have to send the whole thing. That would be a lot of data. What I sent would be enough to stand up in court, Im sure, and Im probably being paranoid, but there's no graphic novel category at the Library of Congress site...
