I am now officially in year 12. See, in the Southern hemisphere, school year begins around the start of Feb. There are 4 terms of 10 weeks, 3 holidays that go for 2 weeks and the summer holidays start 1/2 way through Dec(~6 weeks). In my state, we do 3 terms only of year 11 and start year 12 after the spring hols. Then I have 4 therms of year 12 and in the last term of the year for everyone else we spend the fist few weeks doing MASSIVE exams, then we're free.
